Autumn Spiced Pear

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz Ginny’s Gin
  • 3/4 oz Asian pear juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/3 oz spiced pear syrup*
Mix it up 

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker, fill with ice, shake and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with a lemon peel, pear slice or lemon verbena leaf.

*Spiced Pear Syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup cane sugar (or honey for a richer flavor) 1 Asian pear, sliced
1/4 crushed black peppercorns
1/2 tsp whole cloves
1 large cinnamon stick, crushed/broken

Combine water, sugar and pear slices in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and continue simmering for another 10 minutes, covered. Remove from heat and let cool, then strain into a jar and store in the refrigerator. Keeps for 2 weeks to 1 month.
